Emma Watson, born Charlotte Duerr Emma Watson on April 15 1990 in Paris (France) is a British actress famous for playing the role of Hermione Granger in the film series Harry Potter.

Emma Watson was born in France of English parents who worked there at the time, Chris Watson and Jacqueline Luesby, both lawyers. She has a brother, Alex, three years his junior. Until five years she lived in Paris and is then party to Oxford, England with his mother and brother when his parents divorced. She spent her years of primary school at the Dragon School, a school in Oxford, until June 2003.

After studying at the Dragon School, she was enrolled from 2003 to Headington School, Oxford private school for girls. Having passed his exams of A-level in 2008, Emma made a sabbatical year before joining the university in the fall of 2009.

Career
Before it plays in the Harry Potter films, his acting experience was limited to a few minor roles in school rooms, including Arthur: The Young Years and The Happy Prince. Among its other activities at school are the Poetry Contest Daisy Pratt, where, at age seven, she won the first place.

To win his role in the Harry Potter films, she spent eight hearings before knowing if she was chosen, and was eventually selected from among several thousand candidates.

Emma Watson was chosen to play Hermione Granger at the age of ten years to turn Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone. Since then she has appeared in all the films in the series: Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets, (2002), Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban (2004), Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire (2005), Harry Potter and Order of the Phoenix (2007), Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince (which will be released in summer 2009) and has signed for the final installment of the Harry Potter and the Relics of Death which will be in two Parties (2010 and 2011). At fifteen, Emma became the youngest person to appear on the cover of Teen Vogue magazine. She also participated in a panel, with Pierce Brosnan, Kenneth Branagh and Samantha Morton, to select young directors "First Light" of 2004 for the awards ceremony of the films in Leicester Square in London. She also played Hermione in The Queen's Handbag (The Handbag of the Queen), mini-episode special Harry Potter for the 80th anniversary of Queen Elizabeth II.

On 9 July 2007, the young actress left her footprints hands and feet in front of the Grauman theater, located in the capital of cinema, Hollywood, with the two other young players in the saga Daniel Radcliffe and Rupert Grint.

Before December 2006, Emma had no contract to appear in the film series of Harry Potter beyond the fifth. Although Potter films are his only professional experience as an actress, she expressed the desire to develop his film career in other roles.

Emma plays in the movie Napoleon and Betsy, whose shooting is planned in 2010, after Harry Potter and the Relics of Death (February 2009).

Emma lends his voice to Princess Pea in the film adaptation of The Tale of Despereaux.

Emma Watson has also played Pauline Fossil in Ballet Shoes.
