Julia Roberts is born in Smyrna, Georgia in 1967. Having witnessed the success of her brother Eric Roberts as a player, one who wanted to become a veterinarian or a reporter started taking acting classes at the Actors Studio. She lost her father at the age of 10.
Julia Roberts made her first appearances in TV movies, commercials and films with small budgets (Firehouse, Satisfaction and Mystic Pizza, where she takes her first role). She made her film debut in 1986 under the supervision of Peter Masterson, in a gun for The Hon. She knows her first hit with Steel Magnolias (Comedy drama Herbert Ross, 1989).
